Job description

DFP are recruiting for an experienced Procurement Advisor for a six month contract with potential for an extension.

The Principal Procurement Advisor will be responsible for:
  • Hands-on delivery of concurrent, medium to high value and risk procurement projects.
  • Provision of expert procurement advice consistent with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to enhance service provision.
  • Fulfilling mandatory reporting obligations, reviews, and assessments.
Essential Attributes (Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements)
  • Proven expert knowledge and experience in hands-on, end-to-end procurement from scoping of need, through to transition and contract management processes, in accordance with SA government legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement changes in procurement procedures, strategies and policies, and deliver change and training initiatives designed to support improved efficiencies.
  • Experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving outcomes and to establish and maintain strong effective working relationships.
  • Proven high level communication skills (verbal and written) including well developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct complex negotiations at a senior level with all key stakeholders.
Desirable Attributes
  • Experience in hands-on, end-to-end procurement in an SA Government environment.
