Key Responsibilities;
- Demonstrate an exemplary attitude to candidate care
- Oversee the exam process from start to finish, ensuring that all candidates understand and adhere to the exam protocols and prevent any instances of cheating or malpractice.
- Understand and communicate the examination process and the ethos
- Is proactive with the ability to react positively to unexpected circumstances.
- Confidently can communicate with other members of the DEMIRS team to resolve issues
- Clearly communicate with candidates requirements in a clear manner
- Ensure that all examinations are carried out in accordance with regulations, and provide candidates with a positive and supportive, yet compliant, exam experience.
- Set up the examination room for the preparation of the exam.
- Coordinate examinations which includes greeting the candidates, completing aan ttendance register, delivering exam instructions by reading the script of the exams to the candidates of what to expect during the exam; troubleshooting with business where required to ensure to ensure the smooth running of the exam.
- Supervise candidates in an unobtrusive manner and respond to queries in accordance with exam regulations.
- Ensure that all examinations are conducted in a secure and fair manner.
- Act as a practical assistant for the administration around the exams and troubleshooting.
- Answer simple questions about how the exam technology works.
Specific Duties
- Prepare the examination room – Before the exam starts, the exam supervisor must ensure that the examination room is set up correctly. When conducting examinations, this includes setting up desks and chairs, ensuring that there is enough space for all candidates, and checking that all necessary materials are available. Instructions for conducting examinations must be followed accurately. This may vary depending on the examination venues.
- Check candidates’ identification – Before the exam starts, the exam supervisor must check the identification of all candidates to ensure that they are eligible to sit the exam.
- Exam Instructions – The exam supervisor must explain the rules and regulations of the exam to all candidates before the exam begins.
- Supervise the exam – During the exam, the exam supervisor must supervise all candidates to ensure that they are following the exam rules and regulations.
- Deal with any issues – If there are any issues during the exam, such as a candidate becoming ill or a disturbance occurring, the exam supervisor must deal with the situation quickly and effectively.
- Collect and distribute exam materials – At the end of the exam supervisor must collect all exam materials and ensure that they are distributed correctly to the DEMIRS exam supervisor.
Essential to be successful in this role:
- Ability to communicate in clear, spoken English
- Delivering excellent customer service
- Experience working under pressure
- Capable of balancing competing demands
- Excellent time management skills (Punctuality is important in this role)
- Current valid NPC or ability to obtain one
Desirable experience (not necessary):
- First aid training
- Working knowledge of using technology such as Microsoft (Outlook/Teams etc…)
- Previous invigilator/ supervisory experience
- Administration/customer service
- Understanding of learning management systems
