DFP Recruitment is hiring for APS6 Service designer role with one of our Federal Government client. The Service Design Division works on process, platform, and practice solutions. The division embeds co-design and a stakeholder-view of change into our ways of working, ensuring that our designs represent the greatest value to different audiences. The APS6 Service Designer is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Researching and identifying insights contributing to Agency understanding of information.
  • Co-creating and documenting current state service through design and research, to identify current participant and staff experience and business processes.
  • Co-creating and co-facilitating process design improvements.
  • Advocating for the voice and experience of participants and stakeholders through work processes.
  • Co-facilitating design-thinking sessions with service users to design and test future service processes, channel and experiences.
  • Applying in-depth knowledge of the role and functions of the agency and the related impacts across work areas.
  • Overseeing end-to-end service experiences in line with the Digital Service Standard, ensuring changes are based on participant and staff need and are consistent for all users across different touchpoints.
  • Contributing to the evaluation of proposed solutions and design at both a conceptual and tactical level.
  • Assisting management with the use of system tools and other duties as required.
 
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
 
  • The role requires a candidate with a theoretical understanding of service design discipline and practical application experience.
  • Role requirements for a change management in a government agency. Ability to research and translate participant needs into action
  • The role requires problem-solving skills to drive human-centred design and service design initiatives, and exposure to Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence.
