IT Support Consultant

About the role:
Providing email, telephone and remote access level 2 support for the HCM/ payroll and ERP/ accounting software, primarily to a trained dealer network, secondarily to a selection of customers directly log change requests for the software for review by change control board. Assisting other departments, such as Quality Assurance, as the need arises.

About the role:

Assisting other departments, such as Quality Assurance, as the need arises.
Role Duties:
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with business partners.
- Ensuring completeness and clarity in logging support and change requests pertaining to software enhancements and defects.
- Maintaining good working relationships between the Support, BusinessCare and Development teams.
- Owning support incidents and following through on commitment
- Ensuring that a minimum of 80% of all support calls are adequately resolved each week.
- Assisting with software testing as required.
- Developing a firm understanding of our products and the internal processes of the company.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong to excellent general IT literacy; a prior role that demonstrates this will be valued
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict processes
- Ability to simplify and explain complicated concepts
- Ability to ‘think outside the box’, both to assist with problem solving directly
- Utilise other team members to efficiently solve problems
- Understanding (or skills to assist in understanding) of a broad range of business processes
- Work well in a team and independently, managing one’s own time and workload
Desirable Experience
- Experience with accounting, ERP, and / or payroll software
- Experience or knowledge of basic accounting practices and/or exposure to business operations in industries such as service, manufacturing or logistics
- Experience or education supporting software on desktop, cloud, web and mobile platforms
- Prior experience with networking hardware and software
- Prior experience or education in general systems administration (e.g. Active Directory, Office 365 administration).
- Experience with the Microsoft Azure platform
- Programming skills; particularly in the context of VB.NET, C#, T-SQL, and Powershell
