This Government body works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.
About the Role:
The role of Project Lead - Psychosocial Disability involves leading and developing strategies and work plans based on recommendations from a recent review, with a focus on improving outcomes for people with psychosocial disabilities. The role requires handling complex tasks under broad direction and delivering results across various parts of the organisation.
Duties may include:
- Lead and shape the development of a strategy and workplan to address the Government’s response to the review recommendations on psychosocial disability.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of the mental health and disability sectors and the partnership between clinical (health) and non-clinical (disability) supports.
- Provide policy analysis and advice for legislative reforms to ensure rules and legislative instruments are fit for people with psychosocial disabilities.
- Offer thought leadership and expert advice on improving outcomes for people with psychosocial disabilities.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders in the psychosocial disability sector, including peak organisations, providers, and the disability community.
- Develop both short-term and long-term strategies to support the Agency’s performance, policy development, strategic engagement, and subject matter expertise.
- Proven skills in policy analysis, strategy development, and research.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, providing timely, accurate, and persuasive advice.
- Experience managing senior-level relationships across governments and key stakeholders in the disability sector.
- Expertise in providing technical advice within government.
- Strong understanding of the interaction of complex policies affecting participants with psychosocial disabilities.
- Skilled communicator capable of building and maintaining stakeholder confidence through multiple engagement strategies, including co-design.
