Permit Officer – State Government Contract
Location: Kwinana, WA
Rate: $40.06 per hour +super
Hours: Part-time (approx. 30 hours per week)
Duration: 12-month contract

Under the supervision of the Safety Coordinator, this role involves coordinating work permits to ensure the safety of all personnel at the Outer Harbour and supporting the Port Safety Coordinators in managing compliance and safety training initiatives
Key duties include:

Key duties include:
- Provide coaching and mentoring to staff and contractors on the Permit to Work system and broader WHS requirements.
- Ensure the efficient and effective use of the Permit to Work process and associated procedures, including but not limited to:
- Review and authorise Permit to Work forms, ensuring all forms are fully completed and signed by all relevant parties.
- Verify that an appropriate level of risk management is applied to all Permit to Work forms.
- Coordinate plant and equipment isolations with authorised isolation and verification technicians.
- Audit and monitor permits to confirm their efficiency and effectiveness.
- Previous experience issuing permits to work (highly desirable).
- Knowledge and experience of Work Health and Safety in a heavy industrial/mining industry. (desirable).
- Experience as a Site Safety Representative OR formal qualification in Work Health & Safety (desirable).
- Knowledge of the WA WHS legislation, regulations and practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong computer literacy skills.
