Job Title: Permit Management Officer
Employer: DFP Recruitment Client
Position Type: 12 month Full Time Casual Temporary Contract
Pay Rate: $49.91 per hour + Super
Location: Kwinana WA, 6167
Role Overview: Reporting to the Manager Safety, the role is responsible for coordinating work permits to ensure the safety of all personnel performing work at the Outer Harbour
 
Key Responsibilities;
  • Coaching and mentoring of staff and contractors in the application of the Permit to Work system and broader WHS requirements.
  • Assist in site WHS audits and inspections.
  • Oversee the efficient and effective use of the Permit to Work process and associated procedures, including but not limited to;
  • Review and authorise Permit to Work forms, checking that all forms are completed in full and signed by all relevant parties.
  • Checking that an appropriate level of risk management has been provided for all Permit to Work forms.
  • Coordinate isolations of plant and equipment with the relevant authorised isolation and verification technicians.
  • Audit and monitor permits to confirm efficacy and efficiency.
 
Essential to be successful in this role:  
  • Experience in the practical application of Work Health and Safety in a heavy industrial/mining industry.
  • Experience in delivering workplace training and/or in the development of workplace training plans.
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (desirable)
  • Train Small Groups, Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training & Assessment  (desirable)
  • Knowledge of the WA WHS legislation, regulations and practices.
  • Interpersonal, communication and negotiations skills.
  • Report writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with permit issuing ( highly desirable).
