Financial Analyst / Modeler
  • $120 - $150 Hourly Rate + Super
  • Canberra
  • 3-week contract (possible extension)
  • Interviews conducted (ASAP)
  • WFH / Onsite
  • Estimate start 4th Nov
About the role
This role would be suitable for an experienced Financial Analyst / Modeler who is currently going through a transition phase or wanting a short contract to work on a significant project that will go down in history. You will work on the Telstra Tower Financial estimates.

Duties
  • Identify site uses
  • Gather data inputs:
    • Define assumptions (e.g. when operation will come online, insource v outsource, single outsource v multiple outsource)
    • Define time horizon e. 5 years
    • Source operating costs from other local attractions
    • Define limitations
    • Identify risks to operating costs
    • Define buffer estimate (e.g. +-20% to provide a high-level range)
  • Develop total operating cost estimates including FTE count, fixed costs, marginal costs
  • Engage with relevant areas of Economic Development and the ACT Government as needed
  • Seek Treasury & Strategic Finance QA
  • Determine staff resourcing requirements for this FY and 25/26.
  • Determine expense estimates (e.g. additional consultancies, marketing) for this FY and 25/26.
  • Confirm parts of the asset to be costed (i.e. Stage 1 only)
  • Identify industry standards for different uses
  • Gather intel from Thylacine deliverables, Telstra’s food and beverage report,
  • Check with Quantity surveyor
Desired experience
  • An established record in financial modelling including revenue forecasting and operating cost modelling
  • A minimum of 4 years relevant experience in financial modelling
  • A strong focus on results
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
