Our valued State Government client is looking for an experienced Network Administrator to fill a 12-month contract position to start as soon as possible.
As the Principal Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the architecture, administration, maintenance and support of the Agency’s network and data communications infrastructure, supporting high quality service delivery in a multiple client environment.

To be considered for the role you will need to have 5+ years of experience working with IT networks as well as demonstrated experience analysing IT systems and the formulation, design, and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements. You will also need to have experience providing expertise and support of use of methods and tools (2nd level of support) within the technology sphere.

Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide day to day maintenance of client networking and data communications services ensuring reliability and high performance.
- Coordinate service agreements with contracted telecommunications / networking providers.
- Coordinate WAN, LAN (including wireless) networking and data communications projects, including solution architecture/design, contract / equipment sourcing, configuration, implementation, testing, status reporting and review.
- Provide advice and guidance on networking security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure that the Agency’s network adopts and adheres to relevant standards.
- Act on threat and vulnerability information and conduct security risk assessments and business impact analysis on Agency’s networking and data communication resources
- Develop and maintain quality endorsed networking documentation. This would include L1/L2 drawings of physical connectivity, L3 drawings of routing devices/subnets, IP addresses, device/maintenance inventory, firewall rules, communications rack layouts, as well as network security policies.
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships both internal and external to ensure operational service levels are maintained
- Providing timely customer service and solutions to client requests
To be considered for the role you will need to have 5+ years of experience working with IT networks as well as demonstrated experience analysing IT systems and the formulation, design, and provision of appropriate solutions and improvements. You will also need to have experience providing expertise and support of use of methods and tools (2nd level of support) within the technology sphere.
Ideally, you will have experience with the following:
- Cisco and Juniper access switch and firewall configuration and support (Cisco CCNA and Juniper JNCIA are preferred)
- Web Proxy (SOPHUS UTM)
- Meraki networks install and support
- Network monitoring tools (i.e., Kiwi Syslog, PRTG, servmon)
- Citrix ADC
