Job description

DFP Perth are seeking a Budget officer to engage in a temporary contract for 4 weeks with our State Government client based in Perth CBD

Start Date: ASAP – end date - 4 weeks from commencement

Location: Perth CBD

Hours per week: 38 hours per week  

Salary Range: 35-40 p/h +super

Our client is seeking a highly organised and proficient budget officer to develop its bottom-up IT budget. The successful candidate will possess exceptional engagement and organisational skills and experienced in building/refining budgets.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Gather and collate budget forecasts.
  • Examine historic expenditure from prior invoices and salary spend.
  • Review project budgets and forecasts.
  • Work with SMEs to develop forecasts for non-project, non-recurring spend
  • Engage with stakeholders to validate inputs.
  • Produce a final IT budget (3 year view).
    • Organise costs by type, organisational unit and aggregate
    • Organise the budget in a way/model that can be maintained in the future.
      Key skills required: 
      • Experience preparing budgets.
      • Excellent communication skills.
      • Can work autonomously.
      • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
      • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
      • Experience in Government is desirable but not essential.
