Job Title: Environmental and Regulatory Advisor / Pipeline Decommissioning Regulatory Coordinator

Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term (Part- Time 0.6)

Company Overview:

Our client, a global leader in the oil and gas industry, is seeking an experienced Environmental and Regulatory Advisor to join their team on a 12-month contract. This pivotal role will serve as the single point of contact for all environmental and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance across all project phases, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Regulatory Compliance Plan, securing necessary permits and ensuring adherence to regulations.
  • Provide accurate advice on regulatory matters and evaluate the impact of emerging, new, and amended Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, and Policies, particularly pertaining to pipeline decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with environmental, health, and socioeconomic consultants to oversee the preparation of the project's Environmental, Socioeconomic, and Health Impact Assessment (ESHIA).
  • Interface with project teams and contractors to integrate environmental and regulatory standards into design and execution plans.
  • Prepare and implement regulatory submissions and compliance plans, ensuring effective communication and presentation to regulators and stakeholders.
  • Conduct routine site inspections to monitor environmental and regulatory compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review and approve contractor environmental and regulatory plans, ensuring alignment with project standards and legal requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Proven experience in environmental and regulatory compliance roles, preferably within the oil and gas industry or related fields.
  • University degree in Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Commonwealth and Victorian Acts and Regulations pertaining to pipelines.
  • Strong ability to prepare reports, presentations, and regulatory submissions for regulators.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interface across regulatory, environmental, and technical roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate to advanced level).
