About the role:
We are seeking multiple EL1 Assistant Directors Guidance and Practice on behalf of a Federal Government Agency based in Deakin, ACT. This is a 12-month assignment, with a strong possibility of extension. The position offers flexibility and a pay rate of $602.55 per day, plus super.

As an EL1 Assistant Director you will coordinate and assume responsibility to undertake detailed or sensitive projects, you will provide guidance and support to your team leadership in the planning and coordination of the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiating, establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to develop collaborative guidance to support service delivery.
  • Providing strategic advice about the key stages of the participant pathway, specific participant cohorts and technical processes within SAP CRM and PACE business system requirements.
  • Providing support to drive business improvement in access and planning processes including expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Raising awareness of critical issues to senior management through regular management reporting to senior management.
  • Providing effective leadership to a small team of staff delivering Agency Guidelines, letters and knowledge articles.
  • Prioritising completing priorities and provide advice to the Agency’s executive team about overall team capacity, scope of work and progress against key deliverables.
  • Providing considered advice to multi-disciplinary teams and the Agency’s executive, Board, Minister and other Australian Government Departments in a timely manner.
 
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • High attention to detail and the ability to resolve issues and manage risks across wide-ranging activities.
  • A positive contemporary attitude to people with disability along with a high level of understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
  • Applying project management skills to coordinate and support Agency business areas to undertake effective resource development
  • Resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.
  • Provide leadership, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team membership and assigned contractors working within the work area.
  • Experience in leading the development and creation of accessible guidance materials in plain English and providing guidance around the interpretation of legislation and policies.

  • Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check and completion of the Agency’s screening checks, including; Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check.
