About the role:
We are seeking multiple APS6 Guidance Officers on behalf of a Federal Government Agency based in Deakin, ACT. This is a 12-month assignment, with a strong possibility of extension. The position offers flexibility and a pay rate of $60.26 per hour, plus super.
As an APS6 Guidance Lead, you will be an integral part of the Guidance and Practice team, responsible for interpreting legislation and policies, and developing guidance and procedural documents for both internal and external use by the Agency.

About the role:

As an APS6 Guidance Lead, you will be an integral part of the Guidance and Practice team, responsible for interpreting legislation and policies, and developing guidance and procedural documents for both internal and external use by the Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and update of guidance documents, ensuring they are participant-focused and comply with the Agency’s position, plain English requirements, and accessibility standards.
- Possess a strong understanding of key stages in the process, specific cohorts, and technical systems such as SAP CRM and other business tools.
- Analyse relevant data and systems to inform the development of guidance materials.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the team as a subject matter expert in multi-disciplinary groups.
- Manage multiple tasks while adhering to governance standards, maintaining high accuracy, and meeting deadlines.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information into clear, accessible reports.
- Experience in data analysis and systems evaluation to produce evidence-based insights.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- The capacity to work independently, guided by policies, standards, and precedents.
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to gather detailed information, analyse options, and identify effective solutions.
- Previous experience in policy-focused roles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SAP, CRM, and PACE systems is a plus.

- Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check and completion of the Agency’s screening checks, including; Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check.
