Job description

  • State Government Opportunity in Parramatta with WFH flexibility

  • Initial 6-month contract with possibility of extension
  • $55 per hour + Super
Our State Government Client is currently seeking an Assistant Project Officer who are passionate about making a difference to join their Parramatta team in providing Housing Services to the community.

The Role
  • Support the design, implementation and coordination of projects that deliver effective business outcomes.
  • Undertake research and analysis to support the development of key projects and the improvement of processes.
  • Use project management methodologies and processes to ensure consistent high quality outcomes.
  • Update project documentation, including registers, which support delivery of projects in compliance with agreed upon project management methodology.
  • Prepare standard project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers to manage the flow of information.
  • Assist the project team with completing tasks and implement project plans as required to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and work across Divisions to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.
  • Work effectively with team members towards mutual continued development and to seek feedback on project tasks undertaken.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in an environment with conflicting priorities
  • Ability to maintain project related reports and registers by ensuring data integrity and comprehensive tracking of project milestones.
  • A demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs and attitudes and of the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society, and of their impacts in relation to housing.
  • A thorough understanding of the Aboriginal political and historical impacts upon policy developments in NSW and nationally in relation to Aboriginal land rights, and Aboriginal land use.
Essential Requirements:

  3. are accepted by their community as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
