Job description

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for an EL1 Assistant Director – Change Strategy. This is a 6 month assignment based in either Richmond or Geelong. 

The role is an opportunity to lead the design and implementation of people-led change strategies, influence executive decision-making with high-quality insights, and oversee complex projects to ensure seamless execution and measurable impact. You’ll also engage with key stakeholders and manage external consultancies to deliver real, lasting change.

Responsibilities include;
  • Develop and oversee workforce transformation strategies and implementation plans.
  • Provide expert advice on best-practice change management approaches.
  • Prepare executive briefs, reports, and corporate documentation to support strategic decisions.
  • Manage project risks, governance, and stakeholder engagement to drive success.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate;
  • Expertise in designing and implementing people-led change strategies to support workforce transformation.
  • Strong ability to build relationships, influence decision-makers, and clearly communicate complex ideas.
  • Experience in planning, executing, and overseeing change initiatives while ensuring alignment with governance frameworks.
  • Ability to assess workforce needs, provide expert advice, and develop evidence-based solutions for complex challenges.
