Job description

The Opportunity 

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for an APS6 Risk Advisor. This is an assignment until 31 December 2025 and will be based in either Richmond or Geelong. 

The APS6 Risk Advisor works in the Risk and Audit team and is required to provide detailed technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice.

Responsibilities include; 
  • Facilitate risk discussions, reviews, and application of the Risk Management Framework to identify and manage operational and project risks.
  • Analyse risk trends, develop treatment plans, and support mitigation efforts to minimise exposure and harness opportunities.
  • Deliver risk management training and maintain collaborative relationships with assurance teams to manage shared risks effectively.
  • Support the Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) and contribute to risk reporting for stakeholders.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate; 
  • Previous risk experience - facilitating risk workshops and applying risk management frameworks 
  • Ability to work under limited direction and make decisions based on judgement, expertise and knowledge 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders
