The Opportunity 

On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, we are looking for an APS6 Capital Works Project Officer. This is a 12-month assignment based in Richmond or Geelong. The role will work a full time with hybrid arrangement and will be paying $60.26 per hour plus super. 

Working in the Procurement and Corporate Services team, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of the agency’s property strategy, site fit-outs, and capital works projects.

Responsibilities include; 
  • Develop and oversee capital works project plans, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with the established project management framework.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and prepare draft reports on governance activities and project progress.
  • Coordinate project reporting, including regular status updates, exception reports, and key project milestones.
  • Prepare draft business cases, project plans, executive briefs, and corporate documentation.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenditure, and assist with procurement and contract management processes.
  • Identify, assess, and assist in the management of project risks, issues, and benefits.
To be considered for this role you will demonstrate;
  • Proven experience in a Capital Projects, Fit-Out or Construction environment.
  • A general understanding of Australian Government Procurement Guidelines.
  • The ability to interpret construction planning and design documentation.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
