Job description

The Client

We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to join one of our Federal Government clients based in the Adelaide CBD. 


This is a newly designed data specific position. The initial assignment is for 6 months with a possibility of extension.


Australian citizenship is mandatory to be considered.


Duties and responsibilities include:
  • Developing, testing, deploying and maintaining analytical products, such as data models, Power BI reports, Power Apps applications.
  • Developing and implementing solutions to support the analytical requirements and optimal performance of the office’s data ecosystem including optimise ETL/ELT processes, enhance and automate data pipelines.
  • Conducting data analysis and interpreting data to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on analytics projects, including data linkage research projects and transitioning to new analytics platforms, providing technical expertise on these projects.
  • Documenting business and technical processes.
About you

Skills and experience required:
  • Proven experience in Power BI report development:  including creating complex Power BI reports, data modelling, row-level security, paginated reports, and advanced DAX.
  • Extensive experience with MS SQL Server:  SQL database management, including optimisation and writing complex SQL queries for data extraction and analysis.
  • Data Warehouse Experience: familiar with data warehouse architecture for effective data storage and retrieval, and ETL pipeline development.
  • Power Apps and Power Automate: experience in developing applications and automating workflows using Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Databrick and Lakehouse Cloud-Based Technologies: knowledge and experience in Databricks and Lakehouse architectures is desirable.
