The Opportunity 

On behalf of a Federal Government Agency we are looking for APS5 Internal Review Officer to join the Internal Review and Complaints team based in Richmond or Geelong. The role will be 12 months, working 37.5 hours per week, paying $55.24 per hour plus super.

The team are responsible for handling resolution of reviews and complaints working directly with participants, providers, internal and external stakeholders. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to; 

  • Collect and assess information related to review requests from participants.
  • Inform participants and their representatives about the review, decision-making, and appeals processes.
  • Make evidence-based decisions in accordance with the relevant Act, Rules, Guidelines, and Policies.
  • Effectively manage caseloads, ensuring reviews are completed within established timeframes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing service delivery, systems, and processes.
To be successful you will demonstrate; 
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in an internal review or complaints handling capacity.
  • Proven ability to conduct high-level assessments and decision-making in relation to complex claims.
  • Strong understanding of working within legislative frameworks and guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to assess complex information.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make informed decisions based on evidence.
