Job description

Our client is currently seeking an APS4 and APS5 Executive Assistant to join their team within a Federal Government Agency based in the Darwin CBD.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

• Completing operational and/or administrative tasks of moderate complexity or difficulty.
• Diary and email management, responding to changing priorities and timeframes.
• Preparing replies to correspondence, briefing material and handling confidential papers.
• Scheduling meetings and preparing documentation for committees and projects.
• Undertaking research and investigations as requested.
• Coordinating official meetings, travel arrangements and official functions on behalf of the Branch, Regional and General Manager, and other Agency staff.
• Coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes for the division.
• Assisting in the development and administrative management of new systems, processes and practical tools including training.
• Assisting in maintaining risk management programs.
• Maintaining a well-developed understanding of relevant legislation and policy frameworks.
• Identifying and contributing to the resolution of issues and problems as they arise.


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Proven work experience in a similar role.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in a varied fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy.
• Experience in building relationships both with internal and external stakeholders.
• An understanding of or lived experience in the field of disability is highly desirable.
