APS 6 Policy Officer
About the role
The Partners, Providers, and Home and Living Group at the agency is seeking an experienced APS 6 policy officer for significant reforms and helping set the strategic direction for the supports and services provided under the scheme. You will be shaping policy, and design and implementing important reforms.
Duties
These roles with direction, will engage in problem solving and issues management and exercise sound decision-making and judgement to produce policy advice. It will help undertake engagement and co-design activities with stakeholders, including the disability community.

- Preparing and coordinating policy advice.
- Leading research and analysis to develop policy.
- Drafting policy, strategy, project, and corporate documents.
- Managing policy projects.
- Identifying and addressing reform and project risks.
- Initiating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
- Participating in co-design, workshops, and forums.

- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of the policy development process and how it works to achieve outcomes.
- Policy development experience including contributing to preparing and reviewing policy papers, reports, presentations, briefings and correspondence
- Candidates with an understanding and experience relating to the disability sector and market will be considered favourably.
- A relevant bachelor’s degree
- Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.
- National Criminal History Records Check and completion of the Agency’s screening checks.
