Job description

Our State Government client is seeking an AO3 Procurement Support Officer to join their team in Townsville, on a 3-month contract, with the possibility to extend. You will be rewarded with an hourly rate of $49.40 + super.


As the Procurement Support Officer, your duties will include but will not be limited to: 
  • Maintain and enhance procedures for the entry and amendment of data within the supplier databases to ensure compliance with internal policy and procedures, risk management and audit requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the supplier databases in Ellipse and IRIS by verifying supplier information.
  • Maintain the integrity of QBCC registration licensing details, manage and coordinate systems to ensure suppliers’ licenses and insurances are current and provide regular reports on suspended/cancelled licences.
  • Provide efficient and high standards of customer service
  • Effectively monitor and manage internal and external correspondence, incoming and outgoing telephone calls and ensure responses are provided within required time frames.
  • Review and action amendments to instructions, procedures, guidelines and standard forms while maintaining document control (in conjunction with Quality Assurance).
  • Run and distribute reporting as necessary


To be considered in this role, you will have:
  • Previous experience and knowledge across Procurement / Purchasing/ Contracts management will be highly regarded
  • Ability to use the Microsoft Office package, especially Excel
  • Attention to detail with the ability to and identify and address potential issues before they escalate
  • Willingness to work within a fast-paced environment with KPIs and mechanisms to measure and monitor performance.
  • Ability to connect with industry, local suppliers and internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and effective delivery of services.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and be a positive contributor to a great team and culture while being prepared to perform recurring work.
  • Demonstrate initiative and be a team player by appropriately handling enquiries to senior staff in their absence within expected timeframes.
