Our Federal Government Client is responsible for national digital health services and systems, with a focus on engagement, innovation, clinical quality, and safety. The Role:
The Senior Project Officer provides direct support to Senior Project Managers with project management activities – to ensure program and project outcomes delivery is on track.  Working under limited direction with the opportunity for autonomy and accountability, the Senior Project Officer will exercise both initiative and judgement and may assist in strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Support Senior Project Managers with project management activities e.g. across end to end delivery to monitor, track and report the status of project deliverables to ensure time, cost and quality metrics are in line with approved project artefacts.
  • Support the preparation of Program and Project status reports, and ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Liaise with the Program Director, Program Manager and Senior Project Managers to ensure program and project outcomes delivery is on track.
  • Manage and monitor the project risks, actions, issues, dependencies and decisions (RAIDD) register in partnership with the Senior Project Managers and working group members.
  • Develop, monitor and update project schedules in partnership with the Senior Project Managers.
  • Escalate any deviations to the Senior Project Managers as per the tolerance thresholds.
  • Manage project change processes in partnership with the Senior Project Managers.
  • Support project team to develop and maintain comprehensive briefing papers for relevant governance committees and advisory groups.
 
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Provide expertise and knowledge in the specialist area across a range of project activities for the agency.
  • Assist in strategic planning, program and project management and/or policy development for the work area.
  • Implement work plans for the work area including setting tasks and priorities, managing work flow and allocating resources.
  • Monitor work area performance with an in-depth understanding of relevant legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Perform research and analysis to make decisions that involve complex or escalated issues, longer-term planning and liaison with other sections on policy, project or operational issues.
  • Develop, support and maintain complex relationships with internal and external stakeholders – anticipating needs and expectations
  • Relevant qualifications and /or demonstrated experience aligned to the role requirements
