Are you an experienced claims professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? Due to the significant weather events in Queensland, our client is seeking multiple Claims Consultants to assist with the expected surge in claims enquiries following Cyclone Alfred.
These positions will commence immediately on an initial 12-month contract, with the potential for extension depending on the severity of the event and ongoing community impact. The roles are based in Melbourne CBD.

About the Role
As a Claims Consultant, you will play a vital role in supporting customers. You will manage a portfolio of claims from start to finish, ensuring timely and fair resolutions. Key Responsibilities
- Proactively managing a portfolio of claims, assessing eligibility, and driving claims to resolution.
- Engaging with claimants empathetically, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Identifying fraud indicators and recovery opportunities.
- Preparing detailed reports, including declinature and settlement recommendations.
- Handling complaints and working towards timely resolutions.
- Managing external suppliers to support complex claims management.
- Ensuring all claims meet SLA, KPI, and compliance requirements.
- Claims experience within insurance (Residential and Commercial Property desirable)
- Strong understanding of claims regulations, legislation, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to assess and process claims accurately.
- A customer-centric mindset with the ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Work with a global leader in insurance and risk management.

- Competitive pay: $33.50 - $35.86 per hour + super.
- Potential for contract extension based on event impact.
