Senior Developer
Location – Sydney
9 months contract role
Pay rate – up to $840 + super per day
 
DFP Recruitment is seeking a Senior developer for our state government client. Deliver web-based solutions with modern technologies and are responsible for working closely with the business, project teams to ensure sufficient development resources are available and effectively applied to application development projects, and that development practices, standards and techniques are understood and adhered. 
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Responsible for front end through to back-end integration development requiring interaction with users and logic, working with varying browsers and capabilities, understanding the way content is presented on platform desktops and devices and having a knowledge of frameworks, software architecture, design patterns, databases, APIs, interconnectivity, DevOps ensuring intuitive and responsive interfaces.
  • Identify areas of software process improvement to enhance the organisation’s development capability and to create a better experience for the end users.
  • Lead the interaction and collaboration with teams in technical discussions, design and code reviews.
  • Determine local and team-based standards for programming tools and techniques and provide advice and guidance as to their use to ensure compliance with standards to maintain the quality of developed applications.
  • Work autonomously in developing usable Application Program Interfaces (API) to develop software or facilitate interaction between distinct solution delivery systems.
  • Participate in product configuration, performance tuning and testing as well as production monitoring and ensuring sufficient development resources are available to meet projected demands from the business.
  • Deliver feasibility and cost-benefit analysis, including choice of application architecture to enhance the overall application development process and provide foundational services and API gateways to enable future business functionality.
  • Participate in an agile development process, utilizing industry standard tools for issue tracking, version control, and code deployment.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of development projects ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with agreed architecture, standards, methods and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a genuine commitment to safety excellence and safety leadership. This includes setting health and safety expectations, results and behaviours with direct reports, providing a safe workplace and ways of working, and promoting and complying with safety systems and procedures.
 
Key Challenges
  • Maintaining scope and results focus within a business environment undertaking a range of significant initiatives.
  • Managing consultation and negotiation with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, viewpoints and interests.
  • Improving real-time information access; streamlining processes, accessing information more efficiently, transferring data and information across multiple platforms and development and maintenance.
