Our client is looking for a high-performing APS6 Senior Communication Officer to join their Internal Communication team.
 
The Internal Communication team ensures clear, consistent and engaging communication within the Department to align employees with business goals, foster culture, and enhance collaboration.
The team leads major internal communication projects and initiatives including the development, implementation and evaluation of strategies, activities and regular all-staff communication channels. 
 
The role
 
The successful applicant will have experience in communications and the ability to work across a range of projects and operational priorities to deliver high-level strategic communication advice, develop and implement internal communication strategies, and provide issues management services to the department.
 
Additionally, this role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, project management skills, sound judgement, creativity and an ability to engage with various stakeholders.
 
Key Duties:
  • Development and implementation of internal communication strategies and products for departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Highly developed written and communication skills with a proven ability to write for various communication channels.
  • Provide communication advice to business areas.
  • Contribute to the Internal Communication team’s project and initiatives including the Internal Communication Strategy.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver quality internal communication strategies and materials.
  • Assist with other communications activities as required.
Key Requirements: 
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar, fast-paced, senior communications role in government
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills including demonstrated ability to produce and edit a range of complex materials for print, online and in person audiences
  • Strong project management skills
