Senior Advisor - Environment (Approvals and Delivery)  

Preferred Start Date: ASAP 
End Date: 01-Aug-2025 
Hours: Full-time – 38 hours per week 
Location: Leederville, WA 

Rate: $70.00 per hour plus Super  

Reason for vacancy: Backfilling for substantive who is acting in another role

Job Summary 
Position Purpose:  
The Senior Advisor - Environment is responsible for accelerating environmental sustainability within the organisation. This involves developing regulatory approvals, providing technical advice, and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation to support the design, construction, and operation of assets in alignment with the Thrive 2035 strategy.  

Key Responsibilities 
Approvals: 
Develop and deliver environmental approvals documentation. 
Ensure environmental compliance during asset handover. 

Strategy and Governance: 
Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders. 
Support research portfolios with guidance and technical input. 
Implement QA/QC processes on documentation. 

Asset Planning and Operations: 
Provide technical guidance on environmental risks during asset acquisition. 
Ensure environmental considerations are integrated into business decisions. 
Develop technical advice and support for operations. 

Leadership and Culture: 
Promote safety, customer service, and productivity. 
Foster a team climate of openness and trust. 
Engage in mentoring and development activities. 

Ethics and Compliance: 
Comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. 
Uphold the the organisations' Code of Conduct and other standards. 

Essential Criteria: 
  • Degree in a relevant field. 
  • Considerable experience in environmental processes and geographic information systems. 
  • Strong knowledge of environmental approvals and compliance. 
Desirable Criteria: 
  • Knowledge of the water industry in Australia, specifically in wastewater. 
  • Familiarity with the Water Corporation’s environmental management principles and processes. 
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS 
  • Full working rights within Australia 
  • Current or willing to obtain National Police Clearance 
  • Willing to undergo drug and alcohol screening if successful
