Position: EL1 Scrum Master
Location: Sydney
Contract Duration: 12 months

About the Role

The Federal Government is seeking an experienced EL1 Scrum Master for a 12-month contract to join in Sydney Location. This role is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the Service Design and Improvement functions of the agency. 
As an EL1 Scrum Master, you will be responsible for resolving issues and risks across a broad range of activities involving significant detail. You will support the team leadership in planning and coordinating the team's efforts, ensuring alignment with the strategic or operational outcomes that support’s clients business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing Project Scope and Timeline: Oversee the project's scope and maintain the timeline to ensure timely delivery of project outcomes.
  • Agile Project Approach: Work in line with Agile methodologies to drive the project's success.
  • Sprint and Retrospective Coordination: Organize and manage sprints, retrospective meetings, and daily scrum stand-ups to continuously improve project processes.
  • Agile Coaching: Coach team members in Agile frameworks and scrum practices to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Product Backlog Management: Collaborate with product owners to develop and manage product backlogs and handle new requests effectively.
  • Scrum Maturity: Guide development teams to higher levels of scrum maturity, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Productive Environment: Foster a productive environment where team members are accountable for the product's success.
  • Governance and Escalation: Manage project governance according to Agency frameworks and escalate concerns when necessary.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
  • Extensive experience in managing complex projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Strong skills in coordinating and facilitating sprints, retrospectives, and scrum stand-ups.
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor team members in Agile and scrum practices.
  • Experience in working with product owners to manage product backlogs and new requests.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage risks and issues effectively.
