Job description

Our state government client is seeking an experienced Logistics Officer for a potential 6-month contract in their Perth CBD office.  

TITLE: Logistics Officer 

Start: ASAP 

Rate: $50.58 per hour plus Super 
Location: Perth CBD 
Hours: Full-time - 38 hours per week 
Duration: 6 months (Initial 1-month contract with possible 5-month extension until 30 June 2024)
Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements – casual loading included in rate) 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, OR EXPERIENCE 
  • Maintain the task request, procurement and supply systems for equipment, personnel and materials, including the administration and termination of supplier contracts. 
  • Procurement and contracts managed in accordance with department policies, including contingent labour personnel. 
  • Assist in the provision, maintenance and demobilization of facilities (e.g. control centres) to meet operational requirements 
  • Assist in the provision of transport, including motor vehicle usage, fueling, maintenance and security of vehicles and equipment 
  • Supply catering and accommodation for response personnel. 
  • Displays ethical behaviour in line with the Department Code of Conduct, acts with integrity, and provides effective leadership within department policies and procedures. 
  • Systems maintained to record logistics activities, including supplier registers. 
  • Adequacy of procurement and supply evaluated, and solutions implemented to address deficiencies. 
  • Liaise with government, external and local suppliers. 
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently. 
  • Ability to communicate information, advice and decisions. 
  • Experience in government procurement, stores management, personnel recruitment, corporate record management, personnel support, payroll or similar. 
  • Good knowledge of working with iPhones. 
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS 
  • Current National Police Clearance (or able to obtain if successful) 
  • Full working rights within Australia
