Key Responsibilities;
- Manage and process Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Acknowledge receipt of FOI requests and ensure responses are provided within statutory timeframes.
- Coordinate with internal departments and stakeholders to collect and review information relevant to requests
- Ensure all FOI requests and responses are compliant with applicable laws, such as the Freedom of Information Act, and any associated privacy or confidentiality requirements.
- Monitor legislative updates and provide advice to the organization on FOI-related compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all FOI requests, responses, and associated communications.
- Ensure proper filing and archiving of FOI correspondence for reporting and auditing purposes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for FOI enquiries, providing guidance and support to both internal staff and external requestors.
- Liaise with relevant teams to clarify the scope of requests and ensure the completeness and accuracy of information provided.
- Prepare regular reports on FOI activities, including request volumes, response times, and outcomes.
- Identify trends or areas for improvement and make recommendations to enhance the FOI process.
- Review and refine FOI processes and systems to improve efficiency and ensure best practices are maintained.
- Contribute to policy updates and implementation of new systems for handling FOI requests effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- String research, analysis and problem solving skills
- Interpreting and applying Legislation and Acts
- Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships
- Current valid NPC or ability to obtain one
