Job description

We are seeking experienced and motivated Financial Auditors (Levels 3-6) to join our State Government client’s Financial Audit Unit. This unit plays a critical role in providing Parliament with audit opinions on state government financial statements, controls, and performance indicators. Additionally, it offers local governments audit opinions on financial statements.
 
Role description:
  • Level 3: 2-4 years of relevant experience in financial auditing - Participates in the planning phase and conducts audits of financial statements, controls, and performance indicators, subsequently reporting findings.
  • Level 4: 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial auditing - Plans, executes, and reports on audits of financial statements, controls, and performance indicators.
  • Level 5: 6-8 years of relevant experience in financial auditing - Plans, supervises, executes, and reports on audits of financial statements, controls, and performance indicators.
  • Level 6: 8+ years of relevant experience in financial auditing - Leading and managing assurance audit teams, compiling audit information, and reviewing evaluations to ensure the completion of assurance and compliance audits for public sector entities.
 Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting or auditing designation (e.g., CPA, CA, CIA) is required for Level 5+ and applicants who are working toward their CPA will be highly considered for Level 3-4.
  • Relevant experience in financial auditing, preferably within government or public sector organisations.
  • Strong understanding of auditing standards, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
