EL1 Procurement and Contract Management Officer

The Organisation:
The Customs & Trade Compliance (CTC) Branch supports the Australian Government and the organisation’s commitment to working in partnership with Australian industry to foster and facilitate trade, strengthen supply chain security, and detect illegal trade activity. 
Customs & Trade Compliance Branch:
  • Leads and delivers national trade compliance efforts, and supports the organisations facilitation on trade,
  • Develops and administers a framework of trust with trade industry partners, through education, compliance, and regulatory support, and
  • Supports streamlined organisational engagement with industry on operational matters.
 
About the role:
The procurement process for refund payment provider services is currently underway via an open approach to market.
 
Our client is seeking an experienced EL1 Procurement and Contract Management Officer to manage the procurement process, including the transitioning in and out of service providers.
 
This will assist to procure the refund payment provider services and ensure the continued delivery beyond 30 June 2025 when the current contract ceases.
 
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Plan and manage procurement activities.
  • Prepare procurement briefs and updates for leadership as required.
  • Prepare documentation, approval briefs and business cases for procurement.
  • Drive procurement activities working with the internal team and supplier(s).
  • Ensure procurement is driven in compliance with the prescribed policy and procedures etc.
 
About You:
You’ll bring your specialist procurement experience and knowledge to this role, demonstrating a great understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.
 
Key skills required for roles:
  • 4 to 6 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated successful management of vendor relationships, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Demonstrate negotiation skills and contract managements.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills and analyse vendor performance
  • Being familiar with the Commonwealth resource management framework and how officials in the Commonwealth public sector use and manage public resources.

  • Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.
  • Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check.
  • Hold or able to obtain a minimum Baseline Security Clearance.
