Our valued Federal Government partner is looking for EL1 Manager – Data Engineering to join their team. This role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney or Canberra.
This key role will see you design, develop, implement, manage, and continuously enhance the Agency’s data architecture and repositories to address strategic objectives. You will also use your domain and technical expertise in cloud solutions to ingest raw data to support the agency’s ad-hoc and long-term reporting and analytical requirements.

As a Manager, Data Engineering, some of your responsibilities will include:
- Effectively manage competing priorities during team planning to deliver project outcomes.
- Develop and manage a range of stakeholder relationships.
- Contribute to strategic directions for data engineering.
- Contribute to data design and overall data architecture
- Evolve technologies, platforms, and code accordingly
- Build, deploy, and maintain ETL code and pipelines for data ingestion and analysis
- Automate reconciliations and validations
- Standardise data extraction queries and establish CI/CD pipelines accordingly
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Data Engineering with strong skills in building complex data solutions in Cloud (preferably Azure) using data engineering tools
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant technology discipline or extensive demonstrated experience
- Knowledge of SQL/Python with an ability to analyse transactional datasets to troubleshoot and proactively find gaps in requirements, modelling, and source systems
- Proficiency in data warehousing concepts
- Demonstrated background designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes
- Experience with cloud architectures (Azure preferred)
- Experience using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and Snowflake will be highly regarded
- Hands on experience with DevOps for maintaining and releasing code to multiple environments is desirable
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must hold a minimum of NV1
