EL1 Assistant Director, Grants Policy  
  • EL1 $120,636 - $133,328

  • Non-Ongoing / 12-month initial then possible 6-month extension

About the role
Reporting to the Director of Procurement and Grants, the Grants Policy Officer is responsible for providing specialist grant and process advice and support to departmental staff. Experience in grants administration or collaborating with the Community or Business Grant Hubs under the Streamlining Government Grants Administration (SGGA) program.
 
Duties
  • Providing leadership and mentoring to a small team
  • Providing strategic advice and strategies to ensure the Department is compliant with its Commonwealth Grant obligations
  • Provision of routine specialist grant policy advice and guidance to business areas
  • Preparation of routine and ad hoc grant reporting including non-compliance
  • Participation in selected external forums and consultative groups
  • Manage the Grants Policy Inbox
  • Grant Administration of new and existing grants in Grant Connect and internal systems
  • Build networks and relationships with the Community Grants Hub and Business Grants Hub and Department of Finance.

Skills and Capabilities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Australian Government grant practices and a sound understanding of related policies.
  • Sound understanding of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and the Commonwealth Grants Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs).
  • Providing grant administration support, consistent with requirements as per the Commonwealth Grant Rules and Guidelines (CGRGs).
  • Well-developed oral, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience in leading and mentoring a team
