Position Details:
  • Position Levels: APS6 and EL1
  • Contract Length: 12 months with potential for extension
  • Location: Surry Hills (hybrid work arrangement available)
  • Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Pay:
    • APS6: $60.26 per hour + super
    • EL1: $602.55 per day + super
  • Weekly Pay Schedule
EL1 Business Analyst
Under limited direction, the EL1 Business Analyst will handle complex tasks in line with government legislation and standards, engaging key internal and external stakeholders to advance organizational goals.

APS6 Business Analyst
The APS6 Business Analyst, working with a higher degree of autonomy, will address complex issues within the agency’s policy framework, contributing to strategic and operational objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Document and analyse business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Product Owners in developing user stories, acceptance criteria, and process maps.
  • Lead the transition of business requirements to development teams and conduct verification testing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and share business insights.
  • Analyse data to optimize processes and improve customer experience.
  • Proactively manage risks and contribute to governance processes.
Skills and Expertise:
  • Process Analysis: Skilled in mapping and analyzing current and future state processes.
  • Requirements Gathering: Proficient in managing requirements as Epics and User Stories.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Testing: Competent in conducting systems testing.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled in facilitating workshops with cross-functional teams.
  • Risk Management: Proactive in identifying and managing risks.
  • System Thinking: Deep understanding of new systems and processes.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to identify trends and insights.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiar with Agile and Kanban.
  • Collaboration Tools: Proficient in Jira and Confluence for workflow management.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills across various disciplines.
