- $130 -$150 per hour + super depending on experience
The Role
The Policy, Programs & Engagement Division – is responsible for informing policies, managing external stakeholder relationships, and being the place of excellence for driving national programs, portfolio priorities and outcomes.
The Director, Project Management will be responsible for leading and supporting a small team to:
- Maintain a ‘horizon view’ of emerging programs and projects and provide detailed advice and guidance in accordance with the Agency Project Portfolio Management Framework (PPMF).
- Manage the projects planning including coordinating financial estimates, business case phases and the delivery plan/approach.
- Effectively manage project/program resources and facilitate the appointment of individuals to project teams including managing recruitment as required.
- Drive consistency and standards across the Agency on how programs and projects are delivered in accordance with the Agency PPMF and tools, to ensure key corporate and governance commitments are maintained in a holistic manner, in addition to the routine reporting managed by each of the program/project teams.
- Complete other duties as directed.
- Have experience across a mix of policy and program roles in the public sector, to apply your knowledge of the policy landscape to identify emerging digital health priorities, then lead the team to plan and manage projects and initiatives which the Agency is responsible for delivering.
- Enjoy working in a small core team that is flexible and versatile to respond to project needs, including adjusting resourcing/work allocation as required to ensure projects are supported by people with the skills that are most relevant to each project phase.
- Be able to lead teams that consist of both generalists and specialists.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and ability to drive initiatives for successful outcomes.
- 10+ years’ experience in project management roles in project delivery environments both in public and private sectors
- Expert knowledge and wide experience across project management disciplines with good understanding of best practice principles
- Experience of delivery program and project management services within both waterfall and agile project approaches
- Tertiary qualification(s) in program management, IT or business-related disciplines including any certifications in PRINCE2, MSP, PMP, P3O or similar will be highly regarded
To be eligible it is essential that applicants hold Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
