Responsibilities:
- Perform calibration, testing, and maintenance of laboratory and field equipment to ensure adherence to standards.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Laboratory Manager, and other team members to schedule equipment calibrations efficiently.
- Collect and analyze statistics, investigate operational issues, and report findings to stakeholders.
- Conduct research and evaluation to support improvements in metrological observation systems and processes.
- Document procedures, technical reports, and work instructions accurately.
- Develop and test computer programs to support scientific and operational activities.
- Ensure compliance with quality management standards and safety protocols.
Mandatory:
- Willingness to obtain or possess a baseline security clearance.
- Tertiary qualification (AQF Level 6 or higher) in a relevant technical field such as Physical Science, Instrumentation, Electronics, or Engineering.
- Previous experience in a Calibration or Testing Laboratory.
- Familiarity with Metrology principles and Uncertainty in Measurement.
- Knowledge of Temperature, Electrical measurement, or other meteorological phenomena.
- Understanding of environmental monitoring in land, marine, or atmospheric settings.
