This Government body works with people with disability, providers, and the community to deliver nationally consistent, responsive, and effective regulation of service providers. They seek to uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of people with disability receiving supports or services.
The Role:
We are currently seeking three APS6 Strategic Communications Officers to join a Federal Government agency. In this role, you will be part of the Marketing Communications Branch. The APS6 Senior Strategic Communications Officer will engage with a significant level of public contact, particularly concerning complex, challenging, or sensitive issues.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Ensure that all communications are clear and accessible, adhering to agency branding and style guidelines.
- Serve as a trusted communications advisor, assisting internal stakeholders and business partners to meet project goals.
- Create clear, concise messaging for various audiences, including developing talking points and speeches.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of communication plans, oversee the approval process, and manage the release of materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, addressing and resolving challenges as they arise.
- Assess the effectiveness of communications, gather lessons learned, and evaluate whether project objectives have been achieved.
- Provide administrative, technical, and procedural support to team members when required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and solve problems autonomously.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Excellent organizational skills and adaptability.
- Experience in strategic communications and stakeholder management.
- Ability to draft high-quality written content.
- Project management experience is desirable, but not essential.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience working within the government/public sector and familiarity with relevant processes.
