APS6 Business Analyst

About the role:
We are seeking APS6 Business Analyst on behalf of a Federal Government Agency based in Deakin, ACT. This is a 12-month assignment, with a strong possibility of extension. The position offers flexibility and a pay rate of $60.26 per hour, plus super.

This role sits within the Fraud Fusion Task Force, the Taskforce has been established to improve payment integrity in the Scheme and other government programs and payments by preventing or reducing fraud and criminal activity (including serious organised crime and systemic fraud). The Taskforce enables intelligence sharing, identification and response by the Agency and its partner agencies, including law enforcement and regulators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing reports, interpreting data and analysing results using standard statistical techniques.
  • Coordinating divisional and branch reporting requirements to monitor and track improvement and performance outcomes.
  • Developing business functional requirements and resources, consistent with contractual, legislative and policy environments.
  • Translating business metrics to inform internal stakeholder requirements including efficiency, improvement and performance outcomes to optimise customer experience.
  • Designing and delivering workshops, communication and consultation resources that support complex systems and business information gathering and sharing.
  • Establishing and implementing governance and compliance processes, dashboards and management systems to track branch and divisional performance against plans and targets.
  • Implementing and maintaining audit and risk processes, controls and undertaking issues resolution.
  • Supporting case management system data quality monitoring, analysing data and assisting in developing FFT reporting structures.
  • Undertaking day-to-day analytical work and project management on a range of tasks including supporting analyses and ad hoc requests.
 
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • The capability to work with limited supervision, adhering to policies, standards, and precedents.

  • Be willing to undergo an Australian Federal Police Check and completion of the Agency’s screening checks, which may include; Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Successful applicant must hold or be able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance
