Job description

Legal Support Officer - Temporary Role (Perth)
DFP Recruitment Services is seeking a motivated and experienced Legal Support Officer (APS 3) for a temporary full-time position with a Federal Government client in Perth. This role is for a 6-month period, with the possibility of further extension.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Case Administration: Manage case files, perform data entry, photocopying, filing, and meeting administration. Handle records management and archiving.
  • Witness Coordination: Draft subpoenas, coordinate witness logistics, including travel arrangements.
  • Case Preparation: Prepare materials, lodge documents, conduct basic research, and manage video conferencing setups.
  • Case Liaison: Work closely with Federal Prosecutors, external agencies, courts, and counsel.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Communication: Provide timely and accurate advice, adapting your communication style as needed.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and escalate issues to senior staff when necessary.
  • Professional Development: Engage in learning and development activities as required.
About You: The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and a team player with a background in administration roles. You must be comfortable handling sensitive information and willing to work on cases involving challenging subject matter.
Requirements:
  • Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Willingness to undergo a Baseline Security Clearance.
  • Full-time availability (Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm).
  • Ability to use trolleys and suitcases for deliveries, collections, and court filings within the CBD.
Remuneration: $40 to $42 per hour plus super depending on experience (this already includes casual loading)
