APS 5 Test Analyst
The Data and Analytics Branch supports the Agency by providing high quality data and reporting, translating insights into measurable business performance improvements. They are a centralized team focusing on future process improvement, delivering data and reporting effectively with clear accountabilities, while building data literacy capability across the branch and regions.
The team develops, governs, and maintains an enterprise data warehouse as well as the agency reporting platforms and production content. They design and build Business Intelligence (BI) interventions and prototype analytic solutions and reports, identifying trends and drivers of performance.

The team develops, governs, and maintains an enterprise data warehouse as well as the agency reporting platforms and production content. They design and build Business Intelligence (BI) interventions and prototype analytic solutions and reports, identifying trends and drivers of performance.
Duties
- Develops Test Plan in line with the (1) Test Strategy, (2) project release plan and (3) delivery methodology
- Develops Test Cases traced to requirements and design documents, including detailed test steps, data requirements, pre-requisites and success criteria
- Conduct functional testing based on documented Test Cases
- Supports and assists testers to execute testing against Test Cases
- Authors test plans, test summary reports necessary as required and test progress reports
- Provides a daily and weekly status report for testing activities
- Coordinates with Application Developers, Business Analysts, Test Analysts, SMEs, 3rd party vendors to review test artefacts and defects to ensure rapid review and resolution of documents and defects
- Facilitates defect triage meetings
- Experience as a Test Lead or Snr Test Analyst on a Cloud Data Lake or Data Warehouse implementation
- Experience reconciling large datasets to confirm source to target reconciliation, explaining any differences identified
- Expert with JIRA, Confluence and contemporary testing tools (e.g. X-Ray)
- Highly data literate with an in-built curiosity to explore and understand data
- Ability to query datasets using intermediate to advanced SQL skills, and other common scripting languages
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verba
- Applicants must hold Australian citizenship.
