Job description

  • Locations: Brisbane (QLD), Richmond (VIC), Deakin (ACT)
  • Contract Length: 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension
  • Pay Rate: As per market standard (depending on experience)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
  • Work Setup: Hybrid
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Baseline Security Clearance

About the Role:

As an API Technical Lead, you will spearhead the development and delivery of an API Integration platform. You’ll ensure secure integration of internal and external endpoints, adhering to industry best practices, while working in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
 
Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary scrum team in API delivery, utilizing Jira and Confluence.
  • Conduct technical reviews to ensure best practices and adherence to organizational architecture.
  • Oversee API Gateway development in line with the Scheme Digital Platform architecture and project schedules.
  • Monitor and enhance production environments, troubleshoot API and integration issues using MuleSoft.
  • Define and implement version control, branching, and deployment strategies for APIs.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD documentation and automate deployments using CLI tools.
  • Maintain accurate technical specifications and existing APIs, adhering to governance standards.
  • Collaborate with testing, development, and operations teams.
  • Ensure seamless integration using Web services and REST APIs.
  • Foster team growth through collaboration and knowledge sharing, and guide knowledge transfer and training.
  • Provide expertise in MuleSoft API development and report progress to the Integration Team Lead and Integration & Data Director.
Skills Required:
  • Proven experience designing and developing API Gateway solutions.
  • Strong experience with REST APIs, Platform Events, and integration tools.
  • MuleSoft Certification and knowledge of Maven.
  • Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset, able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with CICD implementation, source control (e.g., GitLab), and package-based development.
