Our client, a State Government Department, is looking for an experienced Senior People and Culture Officer for a 6 month contract, which may be extended. Located in Brisbane CBD, you will be paid a competitive hourly rate.
About the role:
As a senior member of our clients people and culture team, you will closely work with the Director, and internal and external clients to deliver trusted HR advice, services, projects and capability development initiatives. A key focus of this role will be providing high-level HR advisory services to staff across a range of functions.

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice to senior managers by interpreting and applying public sector legislation, directives, policies and agreements regarding complex and sensitive employment relations matters, case management and change programs.
- Use business knowledge, workforce data, metrics and other information sources to identify and develop and implement long-term strategies to address emerging workforce issues and build workforce capability, business improvement, staff engagement and culture.
- Lead the development and implementation and review of projects and initiatives in accordance with our workforce plan.
- Actively implement workforce priorities into business activity.
- Deliver high quality verbal and written submissions, briefs and correspondence, including the ability to communicate sensitive and strategic issues to a variety of stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- A human Resources Specialist with a range of experience preferably from the Government sector.
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or a related field and completion of an approved Rehabilitation/Return to Work Coordinator training course would be highly regarded.
- A blue card will be required.
