Our client, a State Government Department is seeking an AO6 Business Support Coordinator for a 7 month contract role based in Herston.
The purpose of this role is to provide financial reporting, analysis, and strategic advice to support management decision-making.
This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of financial data, ensuring compliance with Queensland Public Service values, and contributing to the achievement of operational and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of operational and capital business functions to provide accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Work closely with senior management in business planning, risk mitigation, and strategic decision-making.
- Ensure the maintenance and integrity of financial data, systems, and management tools.
- Use financial systems to produce high-quality financial modelling, reporting, and analysis.
- Provide financial advice to management, including identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain expertise in accounting best practices, including Australian Accounting Standards and internal finance principles.
- Lead and manage the administration team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Respond to financial enquiries and provide timely and accurate financial information.
- Actively contribute to meetings, ensuring compliance with Queensland Health financial policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Expertise in financial services, including management accounting concepts and financial legislation.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, cost structures, revenue drivers, and their interrelationships.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and reconciliations.
- Experience with financial analytics systems (highly regarded).
