Job description

We are currently seeking experienced Assessment Officers to join our State Government client, commencing in January 2025 on a temporary basis through to June 2025 with a possible extension.

The Role:

Working within the Resolution Services team, the primary function of the role will be to assess complaints regarding defective building works and investigate, assess and determine claims. 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to: 
  • Investigate and assess complaints about building works and insurance claims; review relevant legislation, policy conditions, guidelines and procedures and make determinations on consumer entitlements.
  • Provide advice to Senior Assessment Officers regarding dispute resolutions.
  • Monitor, review and report on the insurance schemes performance.
  • Undertake general duties that contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Resolution Services team.
About you:

To be successful in this role you will be required to demonstrate the following:
  • Knowledge of or demonstrated ability to rapidly gain a thorough understanding the range of Legislation, Acts, Codes of Conduct etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate sound investigative, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills including planning and organising an on-going caseload.
  • Previous experience within insurance or financial services along with the ability to manage a volume of cases.
  • Knowledge of the Building and Construction and/or Insurance industries will be highly regarded.
