Job Title: Risk Advisory & Governance Manager
Employer: DFP Recruitment Client – State Government
Position Type: 6 month Full Time Casual Temporary Contract – Potential Extension
Pay Rate: $70 – 77 per hour + Super
Location: Fremantle, WA 6160
Key Responsibilities;
  • Facilitate risk assessment and timely treatment of risks across the agency, enabling key stakeholders to prepare treatment plans in line with the risk management framework and audit requirements.
  • Maintain and update the risk register (strategic and operational) and provide regular reports to the Executive/Board as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the risk management system, including risk management planning, risk reporting and assistance with risk assessments.
  • Review and maintain the Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Framework, including documentation of BCP exercises conducted.
  • Lead the provision of central coordination, advice and oversight of Visitor Risk management across the agency.
  • Develop and conduct training and workshops to promote awareness of risk management and improve staff capabilities in business continuity practices within the client.
  • Provide central coordination, advice and oversight of Work Health and Safety management across the agency including the reporting of staff and contractor safety incidents and hazards and review of implementation on suitable corrective actions.
  • Provide management support for facilities and fleet management.
  • Ensure policies and guidelines are reviewed and updated in line with revision dates, including liaising with applicable custodians (directorate) to draft amendments, research and analysis to inform policy development and providing advice in relation to new policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of other governance frameworks as required to ensure that governance functions are delivered to meet statutory requirements and strategic direction. This includes maintaining and reporting annually on updates to the Schedule of Delegations and Authorisations.
  • Responsible for the outcome-based management key performance indicators (KPIs) coordination including the setting of annual targets and reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of Executive, Board and Ministerial papers or presentations
 
Essential to be successful in this role:  
  1. Demonstrated experience in risk management including risk identification, treatment, and risk reporting.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes.
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to prepare a variety of documents including complex correspondence, policies, proposals, submissions and governance framework materials.
  4. Demonstrated ability to undertake research, conduct analysis and evaluation, and provide advice and interpretation on complex matters including policies and procedures.
  5. Applies and promotes the principles of equity, diversity and work health and safety in the workplace.
  6. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and supporting codes and standards - ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management Guidelines and ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems — Requirements with guidance for use. 
  8. Experience in the management of governance frameworks and business procedures to ensure the achievement of operational outcomes and legislative compliance.
