MSIC Issuing Officer – 12 month contract – Fremantle and Kwinana, WA 

Salary: $49.91 per hour plus Super

Duration: 12 months 
Start Date: ASAP 
Location: Fremantle & Kwinana, WA 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week 
Type: Temporary casual contract (no leave entitlements - casual loading included in rate)

Duties & Responsibilities 
As part of a small and dynamic team, the Security Service Centre Issuing Officer will assist in processing applications and renewals for Maritime Security Identification Cards (MSICs). 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Data Entry – Input and manage application information with accuracy. 
  • Customer Contact – Request additional information from applicants as required. 
  • Processing & Issuing – Handle applications, issue access cards, and process MSICs. 
  • Compliance & Integrity – Ensure all processes align with DHA (Department of Home Affairs) requirements. 
  • Customer Communication – Provide professional and diplomatic support to applicants. 
  • Financial Reconciliation – Account for and reconcile all Security Service Centre financial transactions. 
  • Records & Reporting – Maintain MSIC records and prepare reports as per DHA guidelines. 
  • Government Liaison – Communicate effectively with relevant government agencies. 
Technical, Professional & Specialist Skills 
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of administrative experience (MSIC/maritime industry preferred). 
  • Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC): A valid MSIC is required. 
Technical Skills: 
  • Strong data entry and computer proficiency. 
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs (preferred). 
  • Industry Experience: Maritime or aviation industry experience is advantageous. 
  • Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in handling sensitive information. 
  • Time Management: Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities. 
  • Teamwork & Autonomy: Ability to work collaboratively in a small team and independently when required. 
  • Communication & Customer Focus: Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
