Join the Team as the Head of Strategy and Insights

Our client, a prominent leader in the Collection industry, is looking for an innovative Strategy and Insights leader to join their team. Reporting to the Chief Information and Technology Officer, this position is a crucial part of our client’s leadership team. It shapes the strategic direction of the company by leveraging data-driven insights, market intelligence, and operational analytics across various client services.

The individual in this role will drive business performance by developing strategic initiatives, optimizing recovery strategies, and ensuring that data-driven decision-making is central to all business functions. This role involves engaging with key internal and external stakeholders, senior management, and the broader business to support decision-making, provide clarity and purpose across functions, and drive the business performance operating rhythm. Additionally, supporting our client’s business growth agenda is a significant aspect of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive business optimisation and continuous improvement through champion / challenger and test-and-learn uplifts
  • Oversee data generation, analysis, and advanced reporting to drive decisions and optimize recovery strategies.
  • Implement and automate emerging technologies like predictive modelling, machine learning, and AI to support client decision-making.
  • Develop and implement long-term strategic plans, conducting market analysis and industry benchmarking.
  • Align strategy with business objectives, improve collections effectiveness, and lead governance of business performance.
  • Monitor and evaluate key performance metrics, identifying inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Drive adoption of digital tools and automation, providing insights to improve customer segmentation and optimize profits and costs.
  • Advise the executive team on strategic initiatives and lead a team of analysts to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Ensure alignment of strategies with Technology, Operations, Sales, and collaborate with Finance and third-party vendors.
  • Lead the delivery of strategic programs and new technologies, drive continuous improvement, and support key client activities, including onboarding and new service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in IT or related business discipline [desired].
  • Minimum of 3 years of people leadership experience, ideally in financial services or the collection industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or strategy in a corporate setting.
  • Essential experience in credit risk strategy, collection strategy, and portfolio analytics.
  • Experience with credit functions, finance, and accounting, with an understanding of business drivers.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to senior management.
