A leading Federal Government agency is seeking a forward-thinking, experienced finance professional to join their high-performing team as an Assistant Director – Finance Business Partner (EL1). As a key part of the Finance Business Partnering function, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders across the organisation, providing strategic financial insights and helping drive better decision-making. This opportunity is a 6 month labour hire contract, with the potential to be extended; based in the heart of Canberra City. Please note that this role is open only to Australian Citizens with the ability to clear a Criminal History Check.

What you’ll be doing
- Leading end-of-month reporting and financial analysis for your allocated groups.
- Providing strategic financial advice to support planning and risk management
- Driving budget development and financial forecasting
- Leading updates to financial policy, controls, and procedures
- Managing and mentoring a high-performing finance team
- Leading or contributing to key finance projects across the organisation
- Building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders
About You

What you’ll need to succeed
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- CA ANZ or CPA membership
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex financial outcomes.
- Leadership and stakeholder management experience, ideally in government or a large organisation
