Job description

A high-profile national government agency is seeking an experienced General Accountant to join its team on a labour hire basis. This is a short term contract role which offers an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of public policy, supporting the financial operations of a key federal entity that drives workplace safety and wellbeing outcomes across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare annual financial statements in line with government standards
  • Draft technical accounting position papers
  • Manage monthly and yearly financial reporting through the CBMS platform
  • Coordinate external audit processes and liaise with auditors
  • Contribute financial reporting content to the agency’s annual report

Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree qualifications in accounting
  • CPA membership (mandatory)
  • Baseline Clearance required 
  • Demonstrated experience in technical accounting and financial reporting, ideally within the public sector
